基本解釋

stoop的基本意思是“彎腰,俯首”,有時指彎曲膝蓋來降低身體的高度,而頭部和軀干仍舊是挺直的。引申可作“屈尊,降格,墮落”解。還可指從較高的道德水平降到較低的道德水平或行為標(biāo)準(zhǔn)而作出不光彩的舉動。
stoop可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時接名詞或代詞作賓語。
stoop用作不及物動詞時常接動詞不定式作目的狀語,可直譯為“彎腰做…”,還可引申譯為“屈尊去做…”。
stoop后可接“to+sth/ v -ing”結(jié)構(gòu),意思是“降低身份作出…”“墮落到…程度”。
