homework與housework的區(qū)別

一、意思上的區(qū)別

1. homework表示“家庭作業(yè)”“課外作業(yè)”，爲(wèi)不可數(shù)名詞。如：

Turn in your homework, please. 請把家庭作業(yè)交上來。

I do my homework in the evening. 我晚上做作業(yè)。

2. housework表示“家務(wù)活，也是不可數(shù)名詞。如：

I'll do the housework tomorrow morning 明天上午我來做家務(wù)。

Have you done all the housework? 你已經(jīng)做完了所有的家務(wù)事了嗎?

一句話：homework 指學(xué)生的家庭作業(yè)，housework指家務(wù)活(如掃地、做飯、洗衣等)，兩者均爲(wèi)不可數(shù)名詞。(JDD)

二、homework用法上的注意

1. 其前通常有物主代詞或定冠詞，但若意義較泛，也可不帶限定詞：

He's behind in handing in homework. 他沒能按時交家庭作業(yè)。

Do Exercises 3 and 4 on page 51 for homework. 家庭作業(yè)做51頁的練習(xí)3和練習(xí)4。

Children this age should not spend more than one hour on homework. 這個年齡的孩子花在做作業(yè)上的時間最多不能超過1小時。

2. 若要表示家庭作業(yè)的“量”，其前可用 much, a lot of, a little, an hour's 等脩飾：

He has a lot of homework (to do) tonight. 他今晚有許多家庭作業(yè)(要做)。

I always do an hour's homework after supper. 我晚飯後縂要做1個小時的作業(yè)。

3. 表示佈置作業(yè)，通常用動詞set：

Our maths teacher always sets a lot of homework. 我們的數(shù)學(xué)老師縂是佈置很多作業(yè)。
