“Way” 短語(yǔ)講解
高三課文中有這樣一句話(huà):“Silk from China found its way over land along the Silk Road to India, the Middle East and Rome...”,句中 “find its way ” 表示 “to reach someplace by discovering the right way to get there”。這裡運(yùn)用了擬人手法。把silk比擬做有思想的人,主動(dòng)地尋找自己的路線(xiàn),顯得生動(dòng)有活力。全句可譯爲(wèi): “中國(guó)的絲綢沿著絲綢之路到達(dá)印度?中東和羅馬……”。英語(yǔ)中有許多含有way的短語(yǔ),生動(dòng)形象,意味深長(zhǎng),具有漢語(yǔ)達(dá)不到的傚果,值得品味:
① make one's way: The team slowly made their way through the jungle.
