關(guān)系代詞which與that的用法區(qū)別
兩者都可用作關(guān)系代詞引導(dǎo)定語(yǔ)從句,指物時(shí)有時(shí)可互換。如:
This is the book which / that you asked for. 這是你要的那本書(shū)。
I saw something in the paper that / which would interest you. 我在報(bào)上看到了一些你會(huì)感興趣的東西。
區(qū)別1:引導(dǎo)非限制性定語(yǔ)從句時(shí),通常只用 which。如:
Jack drove too fast, which was reckless. 杰克開(kāi)車(chē)開(kāi)得太快,根本不考慮后果。
We took what he said literally, which may have been a mistake. 我將他所說(shuō)的照字面意思來(lái)理解,但可能錯(cuò)了。
The church, which dated back to the 13th century, was destroyed in an earthquake two years ago. 那座教堂是13世紀(jì)建成的,兩年前在一次地震中被毀了。
區(qū)別2:直接放在介詞后作賓語(yǔ)時(shí),通常只用 which。如:
The treasure, some of which has been recovered, has been sent to the British Museum. 這些寶藏已送往大英博物館,其中有一些是失而復(fù)得的。
We did a fashion shoot on the beach in which the girls were modelling swimwear. 我們?cè)诤┡牧艘唤M穿泳裝做模特的女孩的照片。
The pianist made a conquest of every audience for which she played. 這位鋼琴家以她的演奏征服了每一位聽(tīng)眾。
區(qū)別3:當(dāng)先行詞是下列不定代詞或被 much, little, none, all, few, every(thing),any(thing),no(thing) 等修飾時(shí),通常用 that。如:
He grasped at anything that might help him. 任何對(duì)他可能有幫助的東西他都想抓住。
There was little that the enemy could do but surrender. 敵人無(wú)法,只有投降了。
All [Everything] that can be done must be done. 凡能做的事都必須做。
A wise man thinks all that he says, and a fool says all that he thinks. 智者思其所言,愚者言其所思。
區(qū)別4:當(dāng)先行詞有the very, the only, the same 等修飾時(shí),通常用 that。如:
Those are the very words that he used. 那是他的原話。英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)法
This is the only example that I know. 我知道的例子只有這一個(gè)。
區(qū)別5:當(dāng)先行詞有形容詞最高級(jí)或序數(shù)詞(包括last, next等)等修飾時(shí),通常用 that。如:
This is the most interesting story that I've ever read. 這是我所讀過(guò)的最有趣的故事。
The first thing that we should do is to work out a plan. 我們應(yīng)該做的第一件事是訂個(gè)計(jì)劃。
區(qū)別6:當(dāng)關(guān)系代詞在定語(yǔ)從句中用作表語(yǔ)時(shí),通常用 that。如:
China is not the country (that) it was. 中國(guó)已不是過(guò)去的中國(guó)了。
He is no longer the person that he was. 他已經(jīng)不是以前的那個(gè)樣子了。
Our income is now double the amount that it was ten years ago. 我們現(xiàn)在的收入是10年前的兩倍。
區(qū)別7:當(dāng)先行詞是一個(gè)既指人又指物的并列詞組時(shí),通常用 that。如:
He was watching the children and parcels that filled the car. 他望著塞滿車(chē)的孩子和包裹。
The passengers and the suitcases that were still waiting had to be transferred to another plane. 仍在等待的乘客和行李只得改乘另一架飛機(jī)。
They log everyone and everything that comes in and out of here. 進(jìn)出這里的所有人和物他們都會(huì)記錄。
區(qū)別8:當(dāng)要避免與 which 重復(fù)時(shí),通常用 that。如:
Which is the book that you need most? 哪本書(shū)是你最需要的?
